Next Level Dance Center is proud to have been awarded the Association of Dance Conventions and Competitions (ADCC) Studio of Excellence Award at the 2018 Nexstar Detroit Regional Competiton.The ADCC is a nonprofit trade association for the dance competition industry. The ADCC’s mission is to promote quality, integrity, and opportunity within the dance competition and convention industry. The Studio of Excellence Award is determined by each participating ADCC member competition and given to a studio of their choice that best exemplifies the values of The ADCC which include working together and striving for excellence.
Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. PBT experiments with outstanding success, the use of muscle memory to improve students understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment for many decades.It is difficult for students to feel what muscles initiate the correct alignment in ballet training, however, as the fit ball is continually mobile under the students’ body, it gives the students a sense of posture and weight – placement whilst feeling each correct muscle group. Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance with a team of physiotherapists.
Leap 'N Learn is an effective, safe, progressive, and developmentally appropriate program for creative movement to beginning ballet. Designed by master teacher Beverly Spell and expert child psychologist Dr. Annie Spell, the curriculum combines the healthiest practices for teaching children ballet technique, while simultaneously encouraging pretend play amongst the youngest students to maintain a positive and nurturing environment. Capitalizing on the naturally occurring cognitive and neural development of children, the Leap ‘N Learn curriculum provides tools and shares knowledge necessary for the creation of a successful learning environment. Through an appreciation and utilization of natural development, students in a Leap ‘N Learn program will acquire motor, cognitive, and social skills beneficial for life.
Progressing Contemporary Technique is an innovative program created by Adam Blanch in conjunction with Progressing Ballet Technique, devised as a series of functional exercises to help explore and develop freedom of movement. To bring awareness to the importance of finding articulation through your body and allowing that discovery to give you that enhanced sense of mobility in contemporary dance. PCT focuses on activating muscles groups through a process of utilising resistance and strength training. The aim is to help dancers achieve a sense of moving with resistance, but never a tension in the body.
